The Death of Dio

Nassif, did not know that Dio was sick. For the generation that enjoyed the rock like mine, it was an important landmark. Sang on Black Sabbath when Ozzy Osbourne left, at the Rainbow, and mounted a set with his own name, among other works with several rockers. Putz, generation of musicians (and foreign) that I listened to in adolescence, it became old and is dying, which means I'm getting too old, A hug.

Die former lead singer of Black Sabbath. Legend of the heavy metal world, Ronnie James Dio was suffering from stomach cancer

The rocker Ronnie James Dio died on Sunday morning to 67 years in Houston, Texas (United States).

The singer gained fame in the global heavy metal scene for his role as lead singer of Black Sabbath and Rainbow groups. It was he who also spread the chifrinho with the fingers, which became a hallmark of heavy rock fans.

The story of the Dio Sabbath began in the 80s, but did not last long because of disagreements among the group. The singer created the group that bears his name, made one of his most famous works, the album Holy Diver - made with bassist Jimmy Bain, drummer Vinny Appice, and guitarist Vivian Campbell - who has achieved huge success at the time.

Dio came back with Black Sabbath in 1992 to release another record of success, Dehumanizer, but it was in 2007, after serving with several names of heavy metal, Ronnie Dio returned to sing with his former bandmates.

To promote the album "Black Sabbath - The Dio Years", which brings together classic metal, Ronnie, Vinny Appice, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler coalesced into a musical collaboration that called Heaven and Hell. The band's latest work was released last year titled "The Devil You Know."

In late 2009 Dio was diagnosed with stomach cancer. The singer was the case in the MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. The artist had scheduled a series of shows with Heaven and Hell this summer, but the presentations were canceled in early May.

Today, the official site of the singer showed only a message from his wife, Wendy Dio, confirming the artist's death and asking for privacy for the family.
